A token is BigGeo's universal unit of platform usage. Every action, storing data, running a query, accessing an API — is measured in tokens. Most standard queries cost about 1 token each. More compute-intensive operations, like complex spatial joins or data exports, cost proportionally more.
No. Every dataset you activate has a built-in monthly cost boundary. Once that threshold is reached, queries continue at a discounted rate rather than at full price. You can also purchase prepaid token top-ups if you want to extend your capacity mid-month.
Included plan tokens reset each month. Any prepaid top-up tokens you purchase separately are available until used. We recommend choosing a plan that fits your typical usage — if you consistently have significant unused tokens, you may be on a plan that's larger than you need.
Always-On keeps your most important datasets loaded in memory so queries return in milliseconds, with no warm-up delay. It's designed for production applications, customer-facing APIs, or any workflow where speed is business-critical. Available as an add-on for Business+ customers.
Yes. BigGeo tokens are allocated at the organization level, not per seat. Your entire team draws from the same monthly pool, so you don't have to worry about one person using up their individual allocation.
When your monthly token balance runs low, you'll receive a notification and can purchase a prepaid top-up to continue without interruption. You can also upgrade your plan at any time for a higher monthly allocation. We never cut off access abruptly.
