About BigGeo
BigGeo is the Spatial Cloud. We help companies manage and access the world’s spatial data. Any size, any slice, any insight. Delivered in seconds.
We’re building something that hasn’t existed before: a new layer of the internet where the “where” and “when” behind every decision is instantly clear, programmable, and actionable. Our platform removes the complexity that has kept spatial data locked in silos for decades, and replaces it with speed, precision, and control.
We’re a Calgary-based company, early and moving fast, with real customers, real infrastructure, and a clear point of view on where the world is going.
Why BigGeo Exits and Why People Build Here
Most companies are spatially blind. They know what their data says, but not where or when things actually happen. That gap costs real money, creates real risk, and limits what AI can actually do in the physical world.BigGeo exists to close that gap. We’re not building another tool. We’re building the rails that connect the planet’s moving data to the systems that run the world. That’s a big problem, and it takes people who care about doing things right, not just fast.
People build here because:
- The problem is real and the category is open. We’re not competing for the middle of an existing market. We’re defining a new one. Your work shapes what the category becomes.
- Your fingerprints are on the architecture. We’re at the stage where the decisions you make today become the foundation tomorrow. What you ship matters.
- We run on clarity, not politics. We move with purpose. No bureaucratic drag, just a team that agrees on the mission and gets to work.
- You’ll grow fast because the problems are hard. Spatial data at scale is a genuinely difficult domain. If you want to be stretched, you’ll be stretched.
- We’re building for longevity. We’re not chasing hype cycles. We’re building infrastructure, the kind that compounds in value over time and earns the trust of the companies that depend on it.
The Role
The Data Partner Manager is a hybrid partner sales and marketplace development role — one of the most strategically important functions at BigGeo’s current stage. You are responsible for signing data providers onto BigGeo’s partner package, getting their datasets listed on the marketplace, and then actively co-selling alongside those providers to help them bring their existing customers onto the platform as registered users.
This is not a passive account management role. You are running two parallel commercial motions: a direct sale to the data provider (the partner package commitment), and a co-sell motion alongside that provider to expand their market reach through BigGeo’s platform. BigGeo is the distribution infrastructure and query layer — the data provider owns their product and their customer relationships. Your job is to bring them onto the platform and help them activate more of their existing customers on it.
BigGeo currently converts approximately 90% of prospective partners. The challenge is not persuasion — it is sourcing the right partners, structuring their credit commitments intelligently, and then working alongside them to drive real platform adoption among their customers.
Key Responsibilities
Partner Acquisition
- Identify and recruit high-value spatial data providers across target verticals: geospatial, mobility, demographic, satellite-derived, environmental, POI, and property data
- Lead end-to-end partner recruitment from initial outreach through commercial negotiation and contract execution
- Structure each partner's platform credit commitment — minimum subscription level, overage rates, and credit distribution model for registered customers
- Work with each partner to define their dataset DTC pricing — translating rows-returned volume into a revenue model they can understand and forecast
- Build the business case for prospective partners: platform credit ROI, DTC revenue potential, and the registered customer distribution opportunity
Registered Customer Co-Sell
- Actively co-sell alongside data providers to help them expand their market reach — bringing their existing customers onto BigGeo as registered users who can query their datasets through the platform
- Support partners in positioning BigGeo to their customers: how platform credits work, what spatial workflows are possible, and how to get to first value quickly
- Help partners build their registered customer onboarding motion — pitch materials, credit allocation strategy, and customer success frameworks
- Track registered customer activation and consumption; identify partners whose customers are underleveraging their credit allocation and work with the partner to address it
Partner Relationship Management
- Serve as each partner's primary commercial relationship within BigGeo post-launch
- Monitor partner platform credit consumption and DTC revenue performance; proactively identify underperforming partners and develop plans to stimulate activity
- Coordinate with the Enterprise Sales team to understand which dataset types are in demand from direct customers, and prioritize partner recruitment accordingly
- Feed intelligence back to product: what partners and their customers struggle to use, what capabilities are limiting consumption growth, what datasets are being requested
What You Bring
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in partner development, data commercialization, marketplace sales, or enterprise business development
- Demonstrated ability to run a full commercial sales cycle: prospecting, outreach, negotiation, contract close, and post-close relationship management
- Experience with marketplace, partner, or data distribution models — you understand how to sell to a provider and then co-sell alongside them to expand their customer reach
- Comfort working with technical concepts — you don't need to write spatial queries, but you need to understand what makes a dataset valuable to an enterprise end customer
- Experience in data, geospatial, infrastructure, SaaS, or adjacent domains is a strong plus
- High autonomy and self-direction — this is an early role at an early company; you are building the partner playbook from scratch
- Excellent commercial communication: you will be pitching data owners on a credit commitment and monetization model most have never encountered before
Why this Role
- Ground floor: you are one of BigGeo's early partner-side hire — the partner network and registered customer ecosystem you build over the next 18 months is the foundation of the company's market position
- Significant upside: platform credit consumption commissions have no ceiling; strong partner performance and registered customer growth compounds over time
- Two motions, one role: the combination of direct provider sales and marketplace co-sell makes this one of the most commercially distinctive roles at an early-stage spatial data company
- Direct line to leadership: you will work directly with BigGeo's founders and GTM leadership from day one
Advanced AI Skills
BigGeo is an AI-native company, and every role is expected to operate with AI as a core part of the workflow. For this role, that means using advanced AI tools (including Claude, ChatGPT) to:
- Analyze platform usage and customer engagement data, and surface insights that shape account strategy.
- Prepare executive business reviews, customer success plans, and adoption reports with greater depth and speed.
- Draft and refine customer communications, playbooks, and internal documentation.
- Synthesize customer feedback into structured inputs for product and engineering.
- Automate repetitive tasks across Monday.com, Slack, Google Workspace, and other internal systems so your time stays focused on customers.
- Experiment with new AI-driven workflows and share what works with the rest of the team.
We do not expect you to be an AI engineer. We do expect you to be curious, disciplined, and actively using AI to multiply your impact.
Leadership, Collaboration, and Communication Expectations
This role is highly collaborative and cross-functional by design. You may work day-to-day with:
- Account Executives on commercial strategy, pipeline, expansion, and renewal.
- Solutions Engineers on technical enablement, advanced use cases, and customer integrations.
- Product and Engineering on roadmap feedback, feature adoption, and platform-level customer needs.
- Marketing and Leadership on case studies, customer stories, and go-to-market motion.
Success Metrics
Success in this role will be evaluated across a clear set of customer, commercial, and operational outcomes.
- First 30 days: You are fully onboarded to the Spatial Cloud platform, have met every assigned data partner, and have a documented early read on account health, risks, and opportunities.
- First 60 days: You have built active data partner success plans for each assigned account - and are expanding credit consumption, have identified at least one concrete expansion opportunity, and are running regular cadence calls and executive touchpoints.
- First 90 days: You own account health across your book of business, are driving measurable adoption against each data partner’s success plan, have delivered structured product feedback that influenced roadmap conversations, and are actively partnering with Account Executives on expansion motions.
- Beyond 90 days: Your data partners are retained, expanding, and referenceable. The Spatial Cloud is embedded in their operational workflows, and the playbooks and patterns you have documented are actively used by the rest of the Customer Success team.
Work Environment and Collaboration
BigGeo is an in-office team. We build in person, think out loud, and move faster together than we ever could apart.
Our Calgary office is not just where we work. It is where the product gets shaped, where problems get solved on whiteboards, and where the culture gets built. We believe proximity accelerates everything: tighter feedback loops, faster decisions, and the kind of trust that only comes from showing up alongside each other every day.
Here is what working at BigGeo looks like day-to-day:
- In-person by default. We work together in the office, not because we have to, but because we have seen what it produces. Collaboration here is a competitive advantage, not a checkbox.
- Flat and direct. We do not communicate in layers. If you have an idea, a concern, or a better way to do something, say it. We would rather have a sharp conversation than a slow consensus.
- Async when it makes sense. Not every conversation needs a meeting. We are disciplined about how we use each other's time.
- Cross-functional by design. Product, engineering, data, and go-to-market work closely together. There are no hand-off walls here, just shared ownership of the outcome.
- Tight feedback loops. We ship, we learn, we adjust. Speed of iteration is part of the culture, not an accident.
