About BigGeo

BigGeo is the Spatial Cloud. We help companies manage and access the world’s spatial data. Any size, any slice, any insight. Delivered in seconds.

We’re building something that hasn’t existed before: a new layer of the internet where the “where” and “when” behind every decision is instantly clear, programmable, and actionable. Our platform removes the complexity that has kept spatial data locked in silos for decades, and replaces it with speed, precision, and control.

We’re a Calgary-based company, early and moving fast, with real customers, real infrastructure, and a clear point of view on where the world is going.

Why BigGeo Exits and Why People Build Here

Most companies are spatially blind. They know what their data says, but not where or when things actually happen. That gap costs real money, creates real risk, and limits what AI can actually do in the physical world.BigGeo exists to close that gap. We’re not building another tool. We’re building the rails that connect the planet’s moving data to the systems that run the world. That’s a big problem, and it takes people who care about doing things right, not just fast.

People build here because:

  • The problem is real and the category is open. We’re not competing for the middle of an existing market. We’re defining a new one. Your work shapes what the category becomes.
  • Your fingerprints are on the architecture. We’re at the stage where the decisions you make today become the foundation tomorrow. What you ship matters.
  • We run on clarity, not politics. We move with purpose. No bureaucratic drag, just a team that agrees on the mission and gets to work.
  • You’ll grow fast because the problems are hard. Spatial data at scale is a genuinely difficult domain. If you want to be stretched, you’ll be stretched.
  • We’re building for longevity. We’re not chasing hype cycles. We’re building infrastructure, the kind that compounds in value over time and earns the trust of the companies that depend on it.

The Role

BigGeo is seeking an Event Marketing Manager to turn events into a strategic, measurable marketing channel for the Spatial Cloud.

This role owns more than event logistics. You will help determine where BigGeo should show up, why we should be there, who we need to reach, and what we need to do before, during, and after each event to make the investment count.

You will build and manage BigGeo’s event strategy and calendar, evaluate conferences and sponsorship opportunities, identify speaking opportunities, develop audience and account strategies, and partner closely with Sales and Marketing to generate awareness, meetings, qualified conversations, and measurable business opportunities.

You will own the complete event journey—from opportunity assessment and planning through execution, lead capture, follow-up, attribution, and performance analysis.

This is a high-ownership role for someone who combines strategic thinking with detailed execution and believes events should be managed as a measurable growth channel rather than a collection of isolated activities.

What You Will Build and Own

As Event Marketing Manager, you will build the systems and programs that determine how BigGeo shows up in the market through events.

You will build and own:

  • BigGeo’s event strategy and event calendar
  • Frameworks for evaluating conferences, trade shows, sponsorships, and other event investments
  • End-to-end planning and execution for priority events
  • Speaking and thought-leadership opportunity identification
  • Event budgets, vendors, timelines, logistics, and deliverables
  • Target audience and account strategies for priority events
  • Pre-event marketing and meeting-generation programs
  • Event experiences designed to make BigGeo distinctive and memorable
  • Lead capture and post-event follow-up coordination
  • Event performance, attribution, and ROI reporting
  • Recommendations for which events BigGeo should repeat, expand, test, or stop
  • Repeatable event playbooks and operating processes
  • AI-enabled workflows for event research, targeting, planning, communications, reporting, and optimization

Your work will turn events into an increasingly informed and repeatable marketing investment rather than a series of one-time activities.

Key Responsibilities

Event Strategy and Investment

  • Build and maintain BigGeo’s event strategy and calendar across conferences, trade shows, sponsorships, speaking opportunities, and other relevant industry events
  • Research and evaluate potential events based on audience relevance, strategic fit, commercial opportunity, category-building potential, cost, and expected outcomes
  • Define the purpose and success criteria for priority events before investment decisions are made
  • Recommend where BigGeo should participate, sponsor, speak, attend, expand its presence, or choose not to invest
  • Continuously improve event selection using performance data and lessons from previous events

Event Planning and Execution

  • Own event programs from initial planning through on-site execution and post-event completion
  • Manage budgets, vendors, venues, sponsorship deliverables, timelines, logistics, registrations, shipping, and other operational requirements
  • Coordinate internal teams so responsibilities, deadlines, messaging, and event objectives are clear
  • Anticipate risks and resolve issues before they affect execution
  • Maintain a high standard for how BigGeo shows up at every priority event

Audience and Meeting Strategy

  • Define target audiences and priority accounts for major events in partnership with Sales and Marketing
  • Build strategies to create awareness and engagement before events begin
  • Develop pre-event campaigns that encourage relevant prospects, customers, partners, and industry participants to engage with BigGeo
  • Build programs designed to generate qualified meetings and conversations
  • Coordinate schedules and meeting priorities so the BigGeo team arrives with a clear plan for who it wants to reach and why

Speaking and Thought Leadership

  • Identify conferences, panels, presentations, workshops, and other opportunities where BigGeo can contribute to important industry conversations
  • Coordinate speaking submissions and supporting materials
  • Work with Marketing, leadership, Product, and technical subject-matter experts to identify strong topics and narratives
  • Look for opportunities to establish BigGeo and the Spatial Cloud within relevant technology, data, AI, and industry conversations

Lead Management and Follow-Up

  • Establish clear processes for capturing event interactions, leads, meetings, and relevant account information
  • Coordinate with Sales and Marketing so priority conversations receive timely and appropriate follow-up
  • Ensure event data is captured consistently enough to support attribution and performance analysis
  • Track progression from event engagement into qualified conversations and business opportunities
  • Identify gaps in follow-up and improve the process across future events

Measurement and Optimization

  • Define meaningful performance measures for each event based on its purpose
  • Track event investment, attendance, engagement, meetings, qualified conversations, opportunities, and other relevant outcomes
  • Build post-event reporting that clearly communicates what happened, what was learned, and whether the investment delivered value
  • Develop an increasingly clear view of event attribution and ROI
  • Use performance data to recommend where BigGeo should invest next
  • Partner with Marketing and Sales to continuously improve event strategy and execution

AI-Enabled Event Operations

  • Use AI to accelerate event discovery, research, and opportunity assessment
  • Apply AI to audience research, account targeting, planning, communications, and campaign development
  • Explore AI-assisted approaches to logistics, project management, reporting, and performance analysis
  • Use AI to identify patterns across previous event performance and improve future investment decisions
  • Continuously experiment with new AI workflows that improve the speed and quality of event operations

Technology and Tools

The Event Marketing Manager will work across modern marketing, sales, event, analytics, and AI environments.

Relevant tools and environments may include:

  • Event and conference management platforms
  • CRM and marketing automation systems
  • Campaign and email marketing platforms
  • Lead capture and meeting scheduling tools
  • Analytics, attribution, and reporting platforms
  • Project and budget management tools
  • Presentation and creative collaboration tools
  • Modern AI assistants and research tools
  • AI-supported targeting, communication, analysis, and reporting workflows

Operational collaboration happens through Slack, Google Workspace, and Monday.

The exact technology stack will evolve. What matters is your ability to build clear processes, use data effectively, and adopt tools that improve event execution and decision-making.

What You Bring

Required Experience

  • Experience planning and executing conferences, trade shows, sponsorships, experiential marketing, or comparable event programs
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple timelines, stakeholders, and deliverables
  • Experience managing event budgets, vendors, logistics, and external partners
  • A commercial mindset and genuine interest in connecting event activity to measurable marketing and business outcomes
  • Ability to evaluate event opportunities strategically rather than treating every event as equally valuable
  • Experience working across Sales, Marketing, leadership, and other internal stakeholders
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to move between strategic planning and detailed hands-on execution
  • Comfort operating with autonomy and adapting as priorities change
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to anticipate operational risks
  • Ability to use data and performance insights to make recommendations about future event investments
  • Practical fluency with modern AI tools and curiosity about using AI across research, targeting, planning, communications, reporting, and optimization

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in B2B marketing
  • Experience with technology, SaaS, data, infrastructure, or developer-focused companies
  • Experience building event programs that support enterprise sales or account-based marketing
  • Experience developing pre-event campaigns and meeting-generation strategies
  • Experience with event attribution, pipeline measurement, or ROI analysis
  • Experience identifying and securing speaking or thought-leadership opportunities
  • Experience building repeatable event playbooks, processes, or measurement frameworks
  • Experience supporting events across multiple industries, audiences, or geographic markets
  • Familiarity with AI, spatial technology, geospatial data, or emerging technology categories

Technology, SaaS, or data experience is helpful but not essential. Strong event judgment, execution, and the ability to connect investment to measurable outcomes are more important.

How This Role Contributes to the Spatial Cloud

Defining the Spatial Cloud requires BigGeo to be present in the conversations, industries, and communities where the future of spatial data, infrastructure, and AI is being shaped.

The Event Marketing Manager determines where those opportunities exist and how BigGeo can make them count.

Your work will put BigGeo in front of the right audiences for clear strategic reasons. You will create opportunities for people to encounter the Spatial Cloud, understand what it makes possible, meet the team building it, and begin conversations that can lead to partnerships, adoption, and business opportunities.

By measuring what happens after each investment, you will also help BigGeo develop an increasingly clear understanding of which events, audiences, formats, and experiences create meaningful results.

Success means BigGeo is showing up at the right events, in front of the right people, for the right reasons.

Work Environment and Collaboration

BigGeo operates in a collaborative startup environment where people are expected to take ownership, move quickly, communicate clearly, and contribute beyond narrow functional boundaries when needed.

The Event Marketing Manager will work closely with Marketing, Sales, Growth, Product, technical subject-matter experts, and company leadership.

You will have significant ownership of event recommendations and execution. That means being comfortable making decisions with incomplete information, establishing structure where it does not yet exist, and moving between strategic planning and hands-on execution.

Events also require flexibility. Priorities, schedules, logistics, and opportunities can change quickly, and this role requires someone who can adapt while maintaining strong organization and attention to detail.

Travel will be an inherent part of supporting priority conferences, trade shows, and other events.

AI is part of how BigGeo works. You will be expected to continually explore how modern AI systems can improve research, planning, targeting, communications, reporting, and decision-making.

Success Metrics

Success in this role means establishing events as a deliberate, measurable marketing channel where investment decisions are tied to clear audiences, objectives, execution plans, and business outcomes.

By the end of your first 30 days, you will:

  • Demonstrate measurable results from priority events through relevant indicators such as target-account engagement, qualified meetings, follow-up conversations, opportunities, or other defined business outcomes
  • Establish reliable event attribution and reporting practices that allow Marketing and leadership to make better investment decisions
  • Demonstrate that pre-event planning is improving BigGeo’s ability to reach priority audiences and generate valuable conversations
  • Build a repeatable strategy for identifying and pursuing speaking and thought-leadership opportunities

  • Use performance data and AI-assisted analysis to identify patterns and improve future event selection, targeting, and execution

Success at 90 days: BigGeo is showing up at the right events, in front of the right people, for the right reasons. Events are generating stronger awareness, qualified conversations, and measurable business opportunities, and BigGeo has clear data to determine where it should invest next.
